Let’s go spend a day in Epping Forest. For some of us, it will be the first time we visit a forest! We will bring some food in case we get lost.
Qize made some research on the history on the forest…
Sophie went through an exploration of the ‘outlaws, poets, mystics, murderers’ in Epping Forest: Strange Labyrinth by Will Ashon.
Max investigated the Epping Forest Visitor center and District museum and ownership of the green belt around London.
April researched forest degradation due to urbanization. Apparently, India has the biggest urban forest. Cities are creative centers of dense human activity, ideas and consumption. Forests create oxygen, transform CO2 into biomass and cool the planet. “wood urbanism”:Brock Commons, recently completed on the University of British Columbia campus in Vancouver was, the world’s tallest wood building.
Visiting the forest was an adventure. Here is the folder with our documentation. We even got the chance to experience an enchanting sound walk by composer Ellie Wilson called Echoes.
